Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day security operations, ensuring service delivery meets contractual, regulatory, and company standards.
- Allocate, supervise, and manage security staff across multiple client sites.
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure service quality and compliance.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure all operations comply with SIA licensing requirements and UK laws.
- Maintain accurate records for licences, vetting checks, incident logs, and training certificates.
- Adhere to British Standards for security operations (BS 7499, BS 7858, BS 7984).
Staff Management & Training
- Recruit, vet, and onboard security personnel in accordance with BS 7858.
- Provide training on conflict management, emergency response, customer service, and compliance.
- Manage performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and professional development.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding security matters.
- Attend client meetings to review performance, discuss incidents, and agree on improvement measures.
- Prepare and submit regular service reports.
Risk & Incident Management
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate security measures.
- Lead incident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure prompt reporting of security breaches, hazards, and emergencies.
Financial & Contract Management
- Oversee budgets, payroll, training costs, and operational resources.
- Negotiate and manage client and supplier contracts.
- Ensure accurate invoicing and timely payment processing.
Health & Safety
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and related regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and enforce risk control measures.
- Promote a safe working environment across all operations.
Business Development & Strategy
- Identify growth opportunities through networking, proposals, and tenders.
- Develop strategies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Keep updated on industry trends and evolving security threats.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of SIA regulations and British Security Standards.
- Ability to manage budgets and contracts effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Competence in report writing and incident investigation.

Qualification
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision, or Close Protection).
- Recognised qualification in security management or a related field (desirable).
- Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH preferred).
- First Aid at Work certification (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the security industry.
- Proven experience in managing multiple client accounts and staff teams.
- Demonstrated track record of ensuring compliance with SIA regulations and British Standards.
- Experience in risk assessment, incident management, and client reporting.
